Energy and Transport Infrastructure

Integrating hydroelectric engineering and road construction through a unified approach.

Dolsar Project Hydroelectric Power Plant Engineering and Road Construction Works is a multidisciplinary engineering project that combines technical services for hydroelectric power facilities with the construction of road infrastructure providing access to project sites.

The project encompassed every stage, from hydrological and geological data assessment and energy structure design to route selection, excavation, filling, drainage and road pavement works, in accordance with the principles of technical compliance, site safety, quality and construction coordination.

Scope of Technical Services

Coordinated engineering for energy structures and transport infrastructure

Hydroelectric power facilities and road projects were planned through the combined assessment of terrain conditions, structural requirements, site access and implementation schedules, and developed using complementary engineering solutions.

Hydroelectric Power Plant Planning and Design

Hydrological data, hydraulic head potential, topography and site conditions were evaluated to determine the general layout of the hydroelectric facility and the technical principles governing its main energy structures.

Water Intake and Conveyance Structures

Components such as the water intake structure, sedimentation system, conveyance channel or tunnel, surge structure and pressurised conveyance line were designed to ensure safe flow and efficient power generation.

Powerhouse and Auxiliary Facilities

Construction and electromechanical requirements for the powerhouse, turbine and generator layout, tailrace structures, switchyard and auxiliary facilities were assessed through an integrated approach.

Road Route Design

Road and service-road routes were developed with consideration for terrain gradients, ground conditions, curve and gradient criteria, existing transport connections and access requirements for the project site.

Earthworks and Engineering Structures

Excavation and filling works, slope arrangements, retaining structures, culverts, drainage systems and required crossing structures were implemented in accordance with road safety and long-term durability principles.

Road Pavement and Construction

Subbase, base and surface layers were constructed using materials and methods suited to site conditions, while quality control, measurement and acceptance processes were conducted in accordance with technical requirements.

Implementation Approach

Integrated management of energy and transport infrastructure in challenging terrain

The safe and efficient implementation of hydroelectric facilities requires not only the proper design of energy structures, but also reliable road infrastructure providing uninterrupted access to construction sites, powerhouses and other facility locations.

Within the scope of the Dolsar Project, KTM Group managed hydroelectric power plant engineering and road construction through a unified implementation programme. This approach improved site access, enabled the coordinated execution of different construction activities and supported the management of technical risks during the early stages of the project.
