Energy R&D Project

Assessing Denizli’s underground and water resources through scientific studies.

The Denizli Geothermal and Hydroelectric R&D Projects encompass studies aimed at investigating, measuring and technically assessing the region’s geothermal resources and hydroelectric energy potential.

Data obtained through field surveys, geological and geophysical investigations, hydrological assessments and drilling activities are evaluated collectively to determine resource characteristics and establish the technical foundation for potential energy projects.

Research Scope

Integrated R&D studies on geothermal and hydroelectric resources

Multidisciplinary studies spanning field surveys, drilling, resource analysis and preliminary technical assessment are being conducted to evaluate Denizli’s natural energy resources using reliable data.

Geothermal Resource Exploration

The location, temperature characteristics and potential of underground geothermal systems are being investigated through the combined evaluation of regional geology and field data.

Geological and Geophysical Investigations

The geological structure, fault systems and underground formations are examined, while geophysical surveys generate technical data to identify potential reservoir areas.

Drilling Activities

Drilling programmes are planned at sites identified through research findings to obtain data on underground temperatures, fluid properties, flow rates and reservoir conditions.

Hydroelectric Potential Analysis

The technical potential for hydroelectric energy generation is assessed by examining the flow rates, hydraulic head, seasonal variations and site conditions of rivers and water resources.

Resource Data Analysis

Field measurements, drilling findings and hydrological data are analysed through an integrated approach to investigate the quality, continuity and potential uses of the resources.

Preliminary Technical Assessment

Research findings are evaluated in terms of potential energy generation models, facility options, technical requirements, environmental conditions and investment development potential.

Scientific Approach

Investigating energy resources using reliable field data

The effective development of geothermal and hydroelectric energy projects depends on scientifically determining the physical characteristics, generation potential and site conditions of the resources.

In its R&D activities in the Denizli region, KTM Group brings together data obtained from various engineering disciplines within a unified assessment process. This approach reduces resource-related uncertainties and establishes a reliable technical knowledge base for potential future investments.
